“Do you do rafting trips?” We hear that sometimes. Which is funny, because we’re the opposite of whitewater rafting. We’re all about stability and predictability.

The Bear River name comes from the real Bear River, which runs through the foothills of California’s Gold Country. It was a place that Anthony Meadow, our president and co-founder, liked to “get away from it all.”

Fast forward a few years. Anthony is starting a company with a few of his friends and needs a name. He remembers Bear River: how it was calm, yet always moving forward. Small, but headed toward bigger things.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Did you know?
In addition to the one in California, there are Bear Rivers (of the liquid kind) in Wyoming, Wisconsin, Washington, Utah, Minnesota, Michigan, Maine, Massachusetts, Idaho, Georgia, Colorado and Alaska.
